Repair Install - SP2 with SP1 Install Disc??

We are trying to do a repair install to XP which has been updated to SP2 --
but the disc that came with the system is SP1.

The system is virtually unresponsive, so uninstalling SP2 is probably
impossible or near impossible.

Anyone have suggestions?

I would recommend creating a new Windows XP CD
with SP2 slipstreamed in, then perform a "Repair Install".
You can use your current Windows XP SP1 CD to
accomplish this.

Either one of the following utilities makes slipstreaming
(integrating) SP2 into Windows XP a breeze:

or

AutoStreamer 1.0.33 (preferred)

Is the system clean of malware and parasites? Have you performed any scans
in safe mode?

Create a Windows XP SP2 CD by slipstreaming Service Pack 2 with your
original Windows XP CD then try the repair install.

You need to create a new installation CD that has SP2 slipstreamed
into it.

I use nLite (free) for this from www.nliteos.com

Good luck
