SP firewall, again

Scanning the posts on this newsgroup, I see that I'm not
alone with my problem: after I installed MS AntiSpyware,
the firewall from SP2 stopped working. Nothing I've tried
has gotten it to turn back "ON".
I see that someone named Bill gave an answer to this
issue, but I can't seem to find Bill's post (which
apparently had something to do with Winsock.)
Could that post be re-posted? Or could someone direct me
to where I could find it?

Steve - removal of certain spyware can disrupt the Winsock LSP Stack.

See this Microsoft KB article for details on how to get it fixed--in XP SP2
it is quite easy--going to a command prompt and typing:

netsh winsock reset

and hitting enter is all that is needed--but you might want to read the
article anyway:
