SP 2 via "Windows Updates" versus "Automatic Updates"

Does anyone know when will ServicePack 2 be available for
download via "Windows Updates" (NOT to be confused
with "Automatic Updates)?
I know that SP2 is available via "Automatic Updates",
however, I don't wish to use this method of download
because I want to have more control over what I download
and when I download it.
I read that "eventually" SP2 will be available
via "Windows Updates" but no date was given. Does anyone
know the date?

Here's the schedule of release
http://communities2.microsoft.com/c...8fe2&mid=923875b4-eb3e-4bfb-8dc8-884052f1e8a2

The reason you have not seen the update for SP2 may depend on the version of
Windows XP you are using. Microsoft is doing a phased release of SP2. The
schedule is as follows:

8/6 - Release to manufacturing

8/9 - Release to Microsoft Download Center (full network installation
package)

8/9 - Release to MSDN subscription site (CD ISO image)

8/10 - Release to Automatic Update (for machines running pre-release
versions of Windows XP SP2 only)

8/16 - Release to Software Update Services

8/18 - Release to Automatic Update for users running Windows XP Home Edition
only

8/25 - Release to Automatic Update for all Windows XP users including those
running Windows XP Professional Edition
8/25 - Release to Windows Update for interactive user installations

If you don't want to wait for MS to give it to you, then take it from them
and do it yourself.

Download the IT install of SP2.

Place md5sum.exe in the same directory as the SP2 installation file, then
open a command prompt. Navigate to the installation directory and type:
