My computer is ~2.5 years old (pre-XP) and came with
Windows 98SE. Aside from a new HD and addtional RAM,
there have been no hardware upgrades. I've recently
upgraded to Windows XP and the soundcard no longer
functions. I've downloaded the upgraded drivers from
Creative Labs' website (LiveDrvUni-Pack(ENG), 23.3MB) and
tried to install them but get the following
message, "Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Live!
card on your system. Please ensure that your Sound
Blaster Live! Hardware is properly installed before
running this Setup program. Setup will now exit." I've
uninstalled and then re-installed the Windows XP drivers
for the soundcard as well as tried three different PCI
slots for the card, but it did not work. Every time I
tried running the updated driver file I got the same
message. I tried going back to Windows 98SE and the card
worked, but when I went to XP I had the same problems
again.
Specs:
P3 1GHz Processor
ASUS CUV4X Motherboard with Rev 1010 BIOS
32 MB Nvidia GEForce 2 Graphics
Thanks,
Kevin
