sound software lost!

i think i accidently deleted my sound software now media player is not recognising my sound devices as i dont think they are installed. is there any way i can fix this without having to take the computer apart?
 
If you have any of the disks/CDs that came with your PC, look for the one that
may be marked as Utility Drivers or such, or it may state sound drivers if your
sound system is Sound Blaster. If you have none, you can get drivers on the
Internet for your soundcard for free.
