How can I make it so that Sound Recorder will record an unlimited
length of sound? Is there other free software available?
True that Sound Recorder has a 60-second limit...on its own. One
alternative would be to take an existing *.wav file that is longer
than 60 seconds, record on to it and then edit it after recording.
But the best alternative would be to find a recording application
via Google. There are plenty of freeware and shareware versions.
Also, I'd like to listen to what is being recorded through the
speakers. How can I do that?
This is done via the Sound Mixer. The source is played back as it
is being recorded. AFAIK, there is no playback of what has actually
being recorded simultaneous with the recording, such as via SEL-SYNC
on professional production, reel-to-reel, multi-head decks. (Or in
computer parlance, read-after-write.)
