Sound problems

I have an Intel(R) 82801BA/BAM AC '97 Audio Controller -
2445 in my PC and I am running Windows 2000. When using
Media Player or Quick time, the video will play at the
proper speed but the sound seems to double speed, as if it
is from the "Chipmunks" universe. When I play a music CD
and don't use Media Player but rather the Windows CD
player, the sound runs fine. Also any sounds used on,
let's say, my desktop will sometimes also run in double
time, but not always. I have run all the tests the I can
think of. Has anyone else had this problem, and did they
find a solution. I am not the most tech person I know so
bear with me.

Obviously, it's a sound driver problem. Find an upgrade on m/board
manufacturer site.
