Sound problems when playing DVD

I had a similar problem with the sound thru my CD writer.

Try going to the Properties of your DVD and uncheck the box
'Enable error correction', just a shot in the dark, but you
never know hey?!!

Could also be a bios update problem.
Had same problems, updated drivers, updated power dvd, re installed xp and
still had it. After a bios update it was gone.
