sound problem

recently installed norton anti virus 2003 professional,
now have no sound on pc, any suggestions?

Remove "norton antivirus 200 professional"? System restore to before install.
If, e.g. Media Player works, but not system sounds, try this:
If you are comfortable with editing the registry, run regedit and navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER, if the (Default) is blank in the "Data" column, right-click
and delete the entry. Xp will immediately rebiuld it with the correct value
"Value not set". Also check HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21 for the same condition.
