Sound Gone on Windows XP sp2

Please anybody who knows the solution of this problem,

I'm using window media player 10 and Windows xp service pack 2,there is no
sound coming from my speakers but the music seems to play. I have checked
everything and shows everything is okay.
I can hear music from the Headphones when I play CD but nothing from my
speakers or nothing when I listen music from the websites or music stored in
window media player. Nothing has been muted everything is okay. I have bought
new speakers but still I experience the same problem. I have already tried to
reinstall my sound drivers and it says that they are working properly.

Currently I'm using VIA AC'97 ENHANCED AUDIO CONTROLLER (WDM) But When I go
to windows update it says to download VINYL AC'97 CODEC COMBO DRIVER (WDM) so
after when I finish to install this it comes the bigger problem even the
music won't play again and no sound.

ALSO ON THIS VINYL AC'97 CODEC COMBO DRIVER (WDM) IT SAYS THIS DEVICE CANNOT
START (CODE 10). Also on windows media player it says as follow C00D11BA:
Cannot play the file Error ID = 0xC00D11BA, Condition ID = 0x00000000

Please note that I have done everything that I have been Suggested and even
sound troubleshooting but no answer. So I have decided to roll back driver to
the one I used before and music plays but no sound

I have already tried to plug Headphones into sound jack but still no sound.
I have check details in my BIOS and I have found the following details,

If I read your epic correctly, you have 2 sound cards ?

Conflict ?

Try disabling your on-board card and just using the other one.

I have tried to disabling on-board sound card and after doing this when I try
to play music it comes message says, “I don't have a sound Cardâ€.
I think this on - board sound card controls everything so I put it on
Enabled (Auto) and the music plays but NO SOUND. What can I do next?
Every reply and help from you or anybody will be very appreciated. Thanks

Check in Device Manager that there is no yellow triangle next to the
soundcard. If there is, re-post.

If not :

1) Run your antivirus and trojan software. Did that work ?

2) If not, delete all entries to your soundcard in Windows. Re-boot and
let Windows detect it. Then install the drivers that came with your
motherboard. Did that work ?

3) Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX

4) Click on Start > Control Pannel > Sound & Audio Devices > make sure
the Device Volume is way up > make sure under Audio that you have a device
selected

5) Double click on the loudspeaker icon in the systray > make sure
nothing is muted and all the sliders are up to maximum.

6) Buy an cheap Soundblaster and use that instead of your onboard system.

Cheers,
Jerry
