sound from only one speaker

checked balance, changed speakers, went to device manager to troubleshoot,
sez device is working poperly. tried to update drivers. no luck. used to have
stereo............sound card problem?

Most likely the jack on the sound card has lost one of its connections.
Have you tried you speakers in another computer? Do they both work there?

The speakers are fine, just tested them. Your solution makes sense. The Last
thing I check is always the most obvious.
