No Sound with speakers

Getting no sound with speakers. Have a small network (2 PCs) with KVM switch.
Have audio when using earphones (either PC) but not through speakers, only
earphone-jack on KVM switch. What's going on? Please help! When viewing
Sounds in Device Manager (on either PC) it says "system sounds" are working
properly.

Do the speakers operate properly when connected directly to either PC and
without any audio connection to the KVM switch?
What is the exact manufacturer/make/model of the KVM switch?
Do you have any audio speaker application installed that has
speaker/mic/headphone options?

Hi Brian,

No, speakers do not work without KVM on neither PC. KVM manufacturer is
JustCom, model JC-102A. Audio speaker application is Realtek HD Audio
Manager, Realtek says all's well! Yeah right!

Have some one else check where the speaker plugs are installed.
I have seen users put them in the wrong hole and can't see the forest because the trees are in the
way.
Another person might just recognize they are in the wrong hole.

On most computers the speaker plugs in the light green hole.

To clarify, you have no audio with the speakers plugged into the jack on
the back of the KVM switch, correct?

Do you have jacks in the front and rear of the PCs? If you do, which are
you plugging into, the front, rear or both?

Do the speakers work with any other PCs?

Do any other speakers that work on other PCs work when only connected to
either of your two PCs, without anything from the KVM connected?

KVM switch has 2 jacks, earphone & mic only, I don't use mic. I do get sound
from either PC if i use the earphone-jack only. I plugged in the speaker jack
to my laptop still no sound. The unit is an Altec Lansing ADA885, excluding
the last couple of days this unit has performed superbly. Wanted to be sure I
wasn't leaving any stones unturned (so to speak). Thanks everyone.

You stated the KVM switch manufacturer/model is JustCom model JC-102A.
Everything I find on that model has an audio jack in the back as shown in
the photos at these sites:

In the past I never used that jack and got complete surround sound on both
PCs. The KVM cables have a green speaker-jack that plugs into each of the PC
speaker-receptacles. This cable configuration worked fine.
