I'm not sure, but I think I uninstalled my sound device/card. I think I have
to take it out, and put it back to re-install it, or so I'm told. But I don't
know what this specific piece of hardware looks like. I would greatly
apprecciate it if somone could help me out and maybe describe what it looks
like at the very least. Thanks for listening.

Look at the back of your PC and find a "card" with your "in", "out",
"mic" wires (red, black & green jack holes, normally. That is your
sound card (if your sound is NOT integrated into your motherboard)
Remove the cover on the PC "box", pull out the wires going into the
card (remembering WHERE WHAT wire came from!) remove the holding screw
and pull out the sound card CAREFULLY! Then push it back in.
Replace wires and boot up. If this has not fixed the problem,
right-click on "volume" (speaker icon, near clock on lower righ tool
bar) > open volume control>options>properties...and tick any relevant
boxes. ie, volume, aux speaker, microphone etc. That should extend the
length of the sound controller. Check for any "muted" (keeping the
microphone "muted" till you require to use it)
I think you should try this BEFORE you take out the sound card. Might
save you the trouble, Cosmos:-) Hope this helps.
