I have Vista Home Premium and when I plug a headset in the audio still
bypasses the headset and comes out through the PC Speakers it is an ACER
9303WSMI with built in cam and mic, i tried disabling the audio but still
theres nothing TIA

control panel> SOUND> Playback> select a playback device to modify its
settings, make it so the GREEN ROUND checkmakr is on your earphones

I am not sure I understand your question. It may be that the design of the
earphone jack is such that it does NOT detach or disconnect the speaker(s)
when the plug is inserted, and that's just how it works. Or, the jack is
bad and didn't disengage the speakers properly. You need to find out from
the operational specification or manufacturer how this was designed. All
laptops I know of will hardware disable the speaker(s) when the jack is
inserted. Poor way to cut corners otherwise.

Bob F. yes you understood it ok sorry if i ddnt explain correctly. I dont
think that the earphone dos NOT detach or disconect the speackers because
there is nothing coming from the earpiece AT ALL.

THeres no playback in sounds it just sets the audio devices to default

Now...that would be a different problem. Are you sure you are plugging the
earphone plug into the earphone jack an not the microphone jack?

if you are using normal simple earphones then something else is wrong since
it should stop the sound from the speakers automatically
