Sound but no video

I have home movies saved in my computer that I downloaded from my Sony Handy
cam DCR-SR40. When I import them into Movie Maker for my folder they import
fine and they show up fine in my collections area. But when I preview them or
try to play them off the storyboard all I get is audio, no video at all. Just
a blank screen. They are MPEG files. Any ideas?

Windows Movie Maker does not like MPEG files. You need to convert them to
WMV or AVI files before importing.

I'd convert to wmv, as there are over 800 avi file types, and only dv.avi
works and there are very few mpeg to dv.avi converters on the market.
