Sound and turn off

Sound- When loud noises go off such as gun shots in games, a small static pop
goes off on the speakers. I have used 3 different speakers (including
headphones) and different volume settings. Please respond if you can help me
with this annoying problem.

Turn off- When I press turn off computer of Windows XP. it restarts my
computer instead of turning it off. What should I do?

Update the drivers for your sound card. Go to control panel, sounds, Exit
Wiindows, and select none. That will probably stop the crashing on exit
problem.
