sort recipients in "to" list

I am trying to send an email and would like to order them by first name. How
do i do that if i do not have a contact list. Thanks.
 
When you compose a message, click the To: button opens the contacts
recipient list.
You can sort this list by clicking on the Name field. It has 4 different
sorts.
Then you can add the recipients in alphabetical order... I don't know of any
other way.
