Contact Sorting

I would like to sort my Contacts by Last Name but have been unable to do
this correctly. The will sort in DESCENDING order but there are 36
Contacts at the end which are sorted in random order.

All I want is to have my contacts listed in alphabetical order by Last
Name and in Descending order. I don't understand why that is so
difficult.

Any help will be appreciated.

In the Contacts folder:
Change the View to "Details".
Right-click on the "Name" column heading, click on "First Name", then click
on "Last Name"
Click on the "Last Name" heading to sort by that, or click on "First Name"
heading to sort by that.

In a Create Mail window:
Click on To:
Click on the "Name" column heading... it cycles thru 4 different sorts

In the Contact Properties:
click on the down arrow at the end of the Full Name box

I did get them sorted in Last Name order . . . but I still have about
thirty contacts which sorted to the top and are in random order.

I have tried editing these to see if I had a space before the name or
something like that but could find nothing. So, I removed the last name
and retyped it exactly the same. When I saved the contact I could then
sort it by the last name.

Very strange but I'm getting it to work.
