The rest of them are thinking it.

There's no point in complaining when nobody is listening.

And since some of the Google Groupers are quite adamant about
using that "service", there's not even any point in explaining
the availability of free servers for text posting, using
proper USENET clients.

Perhaps there aren't any other web based Usenet clients that are good and
popular enough? Since most people that use Google Groups to access
newsgroups are likely new internet users. They may hardly know FTP or even
heard of other old services like NNTP and IRC. Just the web. Those web pages
"thingies".

It is google that is posting the extra lines.

Unfortunately, since it is you that is using them, it is in effect you
that is thought of as causing them.
One of those things that happens with free stuff.

There are free proper news clients (the most popular, whether the best
or not, probably being Thunderbird), and free news servers (such as
eternal september). Once set up, which isn't that difficult (and plenty
here who will help), they're easy to use, and better than google groups
in various ways.
There are 2 groups that complain.

Not bad for 10 or so groups.

As Nil says, the other 8 are probably thinking it (-:

I was not complaining about Google.

About the posters who complain that I use Google.

It only bothers me a very very little.

Take care.

All that glitters has a high refractive index.

See my last post here.

I try to make reasonable accommodations to help others.

Looks like the Texans are losing again. :)
