Sony Handycam Driver

I am trying to import video from my new camera, however when i try to install
the driver that came with the camera this warning appears:

The software you are installing for this hardware:

Sony Digital Imaging Video

has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its
compatibility
with Windows XP

Continuing your installation of this software may
impair or
destabilize th correct operation of your system
either immediately
or in the future. Microsoft strongly recommends
that you stop
this instalation now and contact the hardware
vendor for software
that has passed Windows Logo testing.

I was hoping someone could tell me how big of a deal this is or give me a
suggestion on how else i could get the driver for my camera. I have searched
everywhere for a Windows Logo driver for this camera and have not found it
anywhere. any suggestions or comments would be apreciated.

It's not a big deal and you shouldn't worry about it. Here's what it's all
about:

Microsoft offers hardware manufacturers the opportunity to certify that
their products will work with Windows XP. Microsoft will test the products,
and if they give their blessing the products will receive Steve Ballmer's
seal of approval. This is known as Windows logo testing.

All kidding aside, logo testing is a good idea, because it gives buyers the
assurance that the product will work with Windows. But the testing is
expensive and adds to the time before the product can be brought to market.
For those reasons, many manufacturers - particularly the better known ones -
won't bother with logo testing. After all, if you can't trust Sony's word
that their video camera will work with Windows XP, whom can you trust?

Just be sure that Sony specifies that your camera will work with Windows XP.

Connect via firewire and not USB... it won't need any third party drivers.
