Sony DCR-VX2100

I'm about to purchase a Sony DCR-VX2100 MiniDV digital camcorder and had a few questions for the group

1) How well does it work with WMM? How's the transfer from cam to computer handled? Any problems w/same

2) I have an old Panasonic Palmcorder that records on small VHS tapes. Can the Sony camcorder handle the transfer from the old cam to a hard drive? I've got several tapes I want transferred onto my computer. Is the Sony camcorder up to the job, or do I have to buy a separate capture card

The VX2100 does support pass through

This will not work with Movie Maker as it does not truely support pass
through, and you may be best to invest in some other ediitng software. The
likes of Ulead do some good all in one apps, which will capture/edit and
output to dvd in one app.

Normal capture from the cam's tapes with MM shouldn't be a problem.
