Its connected via firewire, unable to see it with
Moviemaker or anything else for that matter.
I know it worked about 2 years ago but much has changed
since.

Hi potts.

Plug'n'Pray has to see the camcorder, before it can be detected...

1. Try an other IEEE 1394 (aka firewire aka i.Link) cable - the cable is a
common fault (e.g. broken, loose contact, etc.)
2. Try another camcorder on your PC (perhaps with different cables) -
sometimes the camcorder has a blown IEEE-interface (e.g. voltage peak)
3. Try your camcorder (perhaps with different cables) on an other PC -
sometimes the IEEE adapter is gone to manitu...

=> Proof all involved components until you have got the bad part (sometimes
there is more than 1 faulty device).

Usualy you should be able to connect the camcorder to the PC, switch it to
"Play" or "VTR" and "ping" - Plug'n'Pray detect it and installs the
nessesary drivers (and the camcorder is shown in the devicemanager) - but
one broken link in the chain may cause an unrecogniced device

Cheers,
Hausi
