File Description:

Sonique 2 is a Media Player application that is currently in production by
Team Sonique. It expands on many design ideas from Sonique 1.x but is
built on entirely new technology. It has now been in various states of
production for over 2 years.

The user interface is based around "Mantis," which provides a complete
environment for creating any sort of UI imaginable. Mantis has nothing
whatever to do with Media players per se, it could be used to create a
swooby interface for any sort of application.

NOTE: This release is intended as sort of a preview of coming attractions
- a teaser of sorts. It is also a way to kick off the availability of
updated builds as we will be making available to the public periodic
builds of Sonique2. Alpha builds are buggy, unsupported and unfinished.
Install them at your own risk.

Changes in Current Version:
Note: Uninstall previous versions of Sonique2 before installing CDPlay -
an 'analog' CD plugin
Remove from taskbar support
Many bug fixes and mantis changes
Fullscreen vises and video windows now use mantis hotkeys Online window
improvements
ID3 editor is now multithreaded
Various bug fixes and tweaks
Language and help updates

When they stop asking for my life history at signup to try a free media
player, I'll try it. Not until.

I am very suspicious of anyone offering "freeware" that requires me to give
my name and address and other personal information. Somebody has to pay the
bills - do they pay them by selling personal information?

Not to mention, this has been alpha for about 2 years now. It should have
been released by now.
