Right. I could have done that - copy and paste - that is!
Is it better than Winamp Classic or not?
If you don't know or you have not tried it then a simple 'New Version of
Winamp is out' would have done us as much good!

Go easy there big Jim! Gordon contributes a great with respect to
letting us lazy ACFers know when new versions are around. It's widely
accepted as good practice within this group to include information
about what changes have taken place as sometimes they are minor and
not worth downloading. As far as which is better that is purely up to
the user... Gordon is doing us a huge favour here.

I'm running the new beta winamp, and in my experience, nullsoft made a good
job. atleast on my p4 2.4 comp, it loads fast, stable, with lots of
features not available in 2.9x versions. forget winamp 3.x, version 5 is
well worth the download

Thanks Peter.
It's a balance. If you post too little people complain as well! Those on
dial up like download sizes, those on ADSL don't care. If the program is
new to you, you want all the info you can get so you don't waste time
downloading a program that doesn't fit your needs. If you've already got
the program you want to know the changes. As I said it's a balance.

Gordon

Thank you )

I personally think at the moment this version is still a system hogg, and is
to buggy and clumsy just as WinAMP 3 was... not much has changed from my
point a view... but thats just me I will be sticking with 2.9

I suppose I should have waited for this instead of 'flaming' Gordon.
Sorry Gordon :blush:/
However I did download on it on dial-up and agree with B&R's paragraph
above.
2.9 suits me fine and I know it will go on suiting me fine, but that
won't stop me being tempted to download all manner of rubbish for no good
reason than freeware addiction.

Well, it's good that you're willing to admit to your problem -- that's the
first step. ;-)

I like 2.9 but for some reason it wont play ra or ram files using WinXP as
it did on my Win98se machine with Taras plugin.
