I dont know where is the error but I dont succeed in installing the
modern version. I only get the classic one, the modern one is grayed
out. I also tried the full version, no difference. Any clue ?

For some reason I dont trust these latest versions of Winamp...
they seem to offer no special new features and concentrate on the web music
services....
Seems like AOL wants to find a way to cash in on winamp...

anyone else has this feeling?

Winamp 5 Lite 5.12

Strange!
I have the Winamp 5.11 prof. version
and installed 5.12 prof. {under XP}.

It did not work!

Then I reinstalled 5.11 - and that one
worked.

Next I made a second try with 5.12
- and again, the program did not start
**********************************************
at all.

Finally I am back to 5.11 ..

Any one any idea why this happens?

Where did you get the 5.11 version ?

I found WinAmp 5.11 and now got the Modern version, too. But I can only
play mp3 songs. In the preferences I put all file types to be opened ny
WinAmp. But when I want to add files with alt+L there are no files
shown. i.e. the file associations dont work.

Any idea how to remedy that ?

As you see in the previous prost I already "downgraded" and now listen
to the internet radio via winamp. BUT I only see AOL radio stations. How
can I add radios to the list ?

And my file associations dont work. I changed in the preferences but the
preferences dont retain the changes. Very annoying as I can only listen
to mp3 song for the moment.

BTW the Help video from winamp 5.12 is apparently made to be used by 5.11.

I guess a freeware NG is not the best support forum for WinAmp
questions. Which NG among the many would you recommand ?
