.....

Unless I'm not reading this correctly, you want to see your system
resources, used and available....so...

CTRL + ALT + DEL, then click on Task manager, then click on the performance
tab.

That'll give memory, cpu and page file bits and bobs.

TaskMgr.Exe (Task Manager), accessible by a Control-Alt-Delete
or through Run [Type] TaskMgr
Customizable with a number of columns for specific system info,
Click View - Select columns

For more detailed information, use Perfmon.msc (Microsoft Mgmt
Console) snap-in.

Simultaneously press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and click on
the Processes tab.

The limited "system resources" that were such a PITA in the Win9x
systems have gone away in WinXP. If that's what you're worrying about,
forget it. XP will make as much memory available for those "resources"
as you need.

Other than that, ctrl+alt+del, click "Task Manager" and explore the
tabs there. It will give quite a bit of information about RAM usage,
CPU usage, etc.

The term "System Resources," in Windows 9x and Me, referred to a
particular data structure that doesn't exist in Windows XP.

That's one of XP's many improvements over 9X. There are no System
Resources to run out of or to be concerned with.

Use Task Manager, loaded from a right click in spare taskbar. Its
Processes page, View Menu and Select columns to choose those items you
want to monitor

Note that the term 'Resources' as used in win98/ME referred to a
specific 16 bit data structure which does not exists in XP so the term
is not used, except in the natural sense of CPU time; memory, disk space
