Some websites not detecting Flash

G

Guest

I have Flash Player V7 and run Windows XP SP2 with all critical updates
automatically dowloading and installing.

When I go to some websites ie www.bipgondmusic.com I receive a message that
Flash was not detected and that I need to download it.

I have downloaded it again and this upgraded to V8, how the websites are
still not detecting it. When talking to helpdesk at the website they advise
that V7 is required. So I have uninstalled V8 and reinstalled V7, however
Flash is still not being detected. Is there a setting I need to change so
that it be detected and I can use the Flash content on the websites?

I have tried everything on the Macromedia site and everything that
bipondmusic.com have suggested. The only thing I have found is a forum at
Macromedia that suggests that it is fault that has occurred with other users
after installing Windows XP automatic updates.

Have you checked in IE, Tools, Internet Options, Programs under
Manage Add-ons ? You can have it properly installed and if the
enable/disable is set to disabled it won't run. By the way, I just
tried your URL in the mail and it couldn't resolve the name - was
that just an example ?

Hi Kathryn

Try pasting these 2 lines into notepad (between the stars) and save the file
with a .vbs extension

'***************************************************
set a = createobject("ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash")
msgbox "ok"
'*****************************************************

Click on the newly created file, and see if it pops up an ok message, or you
get an error message about not being able to create an object

I am having this same problem and I after I downloaded the file, I received
this error:

Error registering the OCX C:\WINNT\system32\vbscript.dll

It then told me that Windows Script 5.6 was successfully installed, but I am
still having the same problem.

What do I do now?

I have Flash Player V7 and run Windows XP SP2 with all
critical
updates
automatically dowloading and installing.

When I go to some websites ie www.bipgondmusic.com I
receive a
message
that
Flash was not detected and that I need to download it.

I have downloaded it again and this upgraded to V8, how the
websites
are
still not detecting it. When talking to helpdesk at the
website
they
advise
that V7 is required. So I have uninstalled V8 and
reinstalled
V7,
however
Flash is still not being detected. Is there a setting I
need
to
change
so
that it be detected and I can use the Flash content on the
websites?

Hi

I am having simnilar problems but I cannot install Flash Player at all. All
I get is a box so I click install but nothing happens. I have done everything
Adobe's website says but it wont install and I cant view so many websites
that I need for work. This is really frustrating and any help you can give
would be appreciated.

Cheers

I am having this same problem and I after I downloaded the file, I received
this error:

Error registering the OCX C:\WINNT\system32\vbscript.dll

It then told me that Windows Script 5.6 was successfully installed, but I am
still having the same problem.

What do I do now?

Thank you Jon. That download has fixed my problem with all the websites I
was having problems with!

Kathryn

:

Download and install this package

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...43-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa&displaylang=en

Then retry both the website and the 2 line script again.

Also, consider upgrading your version of Internet Explorer, if you are
using
an older version
(Help > About Internet Explorer will tell you your current version)

Hi Jon

I received the following message "Can't find script engine "VBScript"
for
script "C:\Documents and Settings\Kate\My Documents\flashtest.vbs".

Kathryn

:

Hi Kathryn

Try pasting these 2 lines into notepad (between the stars) and save
the
file
with a .vbs extension

'***************************************************
set a = createobject("ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash")
msgbox "ok"
'*****************************************************

Click on the newly created file, and see if it pops up an ok message,
or
you
get an error message about not being able to create an object

Jon

Hi Jon

Yes, these were already enabled in both Trusted Sites and Internet.
Still
comes up with No Flash error.

Manage Add-ons show that Flash is enabled.

My apologies I have a typo in the url - it should be

Have you checked in IE, Tools, Internet Options, Programs under
Manage Add-ons ? You can have it properly installed and if the
enable/disable is set to disabled it won't run. By the way, I
just
tried your URL in the mail and it couldn't resolve the name -
was
that just an example ?

I have already done this and it the website still is not
detecting
Flash.
