Some programs don't start-up

Hi!
Some of my startup programs don't start up when I boot. They
are in the msconfig startup list with check marks, but no
go. I cleaned for viruses and spyware, and found nothing.
This is with XP-Pro with SP2. Thanks

Hi

What particular programs aren't starting up? Windows or 3rd party programs?

Thank you Will.

Well, the wireless mouse and keyboard software (Logitech)
(no icons in the system tray)but keyboard and mouse
function. I have to run the Logitech software by itself and
then software/adjustments/on-screen indicators work. (The
keyboard software shows when the cap lock keys are on, and
so forth). Another program that won't start at start-up is
Spybot. That always runs if I start it later. Also no
running at start up is the battery/ac indicator for the
notebook computer (Toshiba M10), the Intel speed step
monitor and the volume control access icon. I can get all
these to run for a session by going to the various control
panel groups and turning each off and turning each on again.
The windows WiFi indicator and TrendMirco PC-Cillin do run
from start-up.

Does that give you a clue about what I need to do?

Hi

When you set the mouse up - on the Quick Setup tab - enable 'Show icon in
the Taskbar'

For keyboard - on the Options tab - enable 'Show icon in the task bar'

The others are probably configured from within the program itself. You'll
have to look an 'Options' or 'Settings' tab.

All the check marks are already checked to show the icon for
the mouse and sound and battery indicator.
The other programs are also set up to run and show
automatically. Is there a next step?
