Some of my Desktop icons & Folders dissapeared.

I have Windows Vista, and all has been working fine. In the morning it was
fine, but when I got back in the evening some of my Desktop icons AND Folders
had gone. I had about 5 folders with photos & personal info in them, and some
shortcuts to some programs. 2 of the programs remained but all the 5 folders
and program shortcuts had vanished.

How can I recover them?

Hi,

You might try Previous Version and possibly recover them or System Restore.

For Previous Version, open Explorer and locate the following folder.
"YourName" will be the given name you gave your system. Right click the
Desktop folder and select Properties then select the Previous Version tab.
Look for a date just prior to when they became missing and select Restore.

C:\Users\YourName\Desktop

For System Restore click Start and in the "Start Search" at the bottom type:
System Restore. Choose a date just prior to when they became missing.
