Some links don't work

On my XP Home wireless laptop, some links don't work. For example, on the
Dell website when I am looking at my order status, I click on a link that is
supposed to open a new window. Instead, my cursor stays in its hand form for
about 30 seconds and it seems as if IE isn't responding. Then, the cursor
changes back into the normal arrow, and IE acts as if nothing has happened,
except the window never pops up. It's not a problem with the Dell site,
because I can do it on my XP Pro desktop.

Rob,

has it always been like that? Or is it a new problem?

Has anything changed in your computer's installation? Has
Service Pack 2 been installed?

I became aware of it last night when my mother was attempting to click on a
link. It's her computer, but it seemed as if it had just started last night.
I installed SP2 on it today, but it still has the same problem.

Repost this to an Internet Explorer NG. This fix, I think, is to repair
the HTML file type. I do not recall the details, but a more specific NG
will.
