Solve my DVD/CD Drive problem!

I'm having the very problem described in the following knowledge base
article. The thing is that it says that sp2 solves it, but I only got the
problem after I installed it. Does anyone know what my solution is?

This may not be a issue with SP2 rather the CD-ROM driver problem. Boot into
safe mode and remove the CD-ROM drivers from Device Manager. Restart to
reinstall automatically.

Did the start of your CD/DVD drive problem coincide with installing SP2, or
did it follow it by a certain period of time? If the latter, you can try
using the System Restore Wizard to revert your settings to before the
problem started.
Go to Help and Support
Under "Pick a Task" on the right side of the page, select "Undo changes to
your computer with System Restore."
If, for any reason, you do not like the results, you can undo System
Restore.
