Go into add remove programs in the control panel and
check the Installed Windows Components and Make sure all
the accessories are checked and isntalled from the
Windows XP CD.

Windows should have installed the file if your mainboard supports sounds.
Extract a new copy of Sndvol32.exe from the Windows XP CD to the
system_root \System32 folder on your computer's hard disk.Follow the
instructions given here:-
