ive check everything i can and couldnt find anything HELP!!!

Try:

1. On the XP Pro machine, right click My Computer and select Properties.
Click the Computer Name tab and the Change button. Change the name of the
workgroup to workgroup.

2. On the XP Pro machine, use the Computer Management Console to create a
new user account with the same user name and password used to log onto the
Win98 machine and make it a member of the Administrators group. If you do
not use a password on the Win98 machine, create one. Log onto the XP
machine with the new user account.

3. On the XP Pro machine, disable the firewall.

4. On the Win98 machine, make sure File and Printer Sharing is enabled.
