slowness with copying files to server

Hello,
I have two servers (win2K member server and Win2003 DC).
If I copy a big file / folder (1 GB) from W2003-SRV to W2K-SRV it's rapid
(30 sec.).
But if I copy the same file / folder from W2K-SRV to W2003-SRV, it's very
slowness (many minutes). But this slowness is only first time.
If I delete the file in W2003-SRV and repeat copy file fron W2K-SRV, the
second time is rapid.
I exclude network card problems or switch problem, because this is only the
first time. Same problem there is if some PC (not all) copy big file to
server W2003-SRV.
Please someone can help me?
Thanks

Thanks for your reply,
If I write big file directly from w2k-srv or same PC in w2003-srv, it's rapid.

maybe the w2k3 server is writing data on disk slower (depends on the config,
cache, hdds, controllers, raid ... etc)

But the slowness is only first time. Second time I write the same file
(delete and re-write), it's very rapid
