Slower on startup!----------------

I have a toshiba satellite M105-S3041 , windows XP home and 512 MBRAM.

I just bought a 512 MB toshiba RAM upgrade and i noticed that on startup the
icons and taskbar take couple seconds more to appear than before, i can see
the desktop but empty, and after a little bit everything appears.

Now, the memory upgrade is original Toshiba and brand new. (in system
properties i see 0.99 GB RAM, not 1GB)

so, anybody got an idea whats happening here?

The System Properties information indicates that the computer uses
"shared RAM" for video, so Windows is reporting what is left over
after the allocation for video.

As for your performance issues, are you certain about the startup
time? Did you do precisely timed benchmark testing both before and
after the RAM upgrade?

Sometimes our perceptions can be subjective - we expect something to
be very much faster whereas the actual result is unchanged or perhaps
only a bit faster. Because this is less than what we expected we
perceive that it is has slowed down.
