Screen Detiorating

In last week screen has been showing 'static' in welcome screen & IE windows
where tool bar is. It is like a badly tuned television and very annoying. I
am on a toshiba satellite 1.73 GHz, 504 mb Ram 45 gb available space. All
updates and security are current

Can you connect the monitor to another computer to establish whether this is
a monitor or computer fault?

All I have is this to say. I would be surprised only if the problem was
anything other than the monitor, and I am willing to bet that the monitor is
also a cheap LCD. I cannot see how the video card would be to blame or even
anything else in the motherboard if it is at least working. If you want to
fix it, I would suggest buying a new monitor, or adjusting the built-in
settings on the monitor.

You have hardware problems. Contact Toshiba tech support for
repair/replacement.

i didnt read that part about the toshiba .. just to tell you, worst brand of
laptop you could buy ..... anything could be better, i've heard about so many
problems with them, most a lot worse than yours.
