I'm trying to rip some mp3's from a few disks I have, however two things
occur when I try, no matter which ripping software I use.
First, it estimates 20 minutes to rip a 2 minute track, then 40 minutes for
the same 2 minute track, then it seems to hang so, secondly, I ctrl-alt-del
and see that CPU is at 100% and everything is sluggish.
I've tried this with various disks, cleaned the disk and the lens, rebooted
the machine several times, but the problem is still there.
I'm not at all sure of the cause but it's very frustrating and has been
consistant for months now. When I talked to HP months ago they recommended I
reinstall the drivers for the CD-Rom, which I recently did, I reinstalled
everything in my yearly cleanup and recover.
Same issue, anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
PJ
PS, I have an HP Pavilion laptop AMD Athelon 1.5 gig, 512megs on Home
