slow while login to domain

Hi experts,

I have trouble to login a winxp workstation to a domain after join into it
successfully.
The login process take around 10 minutes to apply personal setting... so on
& so on.

what is the problem actually? I am using WinXP SP2 & Win2000 server

The most likely cause of slow logins is misconfiguration of DNS - on the
slow computer be sure that it is looking only at the domain DNS server for
name resolution (no ISP or other entries) and that the domain DNS server is
either forwarding all requests for non-domain names to an outside DNS server
or using root hints.
