Slow to resume from hibernation

Half way through resuming from hibernation, the power died on my laptop.
Since then, it takes ages to resume from hibernation (minutes!!!).

I've tried pressing F8 during the resume and deleting the resume
information, but the next time I hibernate it's back to taking ages...

Any suggestions what to try next???
