Yesterday morning my XP-Home edition computer booted to
desktop in 19 seconds, as normal. During my morning,
before I go to work session automatic update found
something and installed it. When I got home and booted,
right after the starting Windows screen came on the
screen went blank and stayed that way for about three
minutes then finally returned to the start-up process,
but much slower than normal.

Does anyone have an idea of what is causing this and how
I can solve it? TIA

Dennis

Do you have a network adapter installed on that computer?
Could you go to the windows update site, and check the insallation history
to see what whas that you insalled for the last time?
