Hi all,

I'm running a box running Windows xp sp2 pro 384 MB of ram and a AMD Athlon
1700+ 1.47 Ghz... The computer takes (Or seems to take) A long time toi start
up, once the windows xp boot logo comes up it just sits there for over a
minute and then finally goes to windows logon screen, I have done a reinstall
of winodws thinking that would help but it didn't.. Anyone have any other
ideas?

Thx

More RAM, Faster Processor and a faster drive/interface for the drive..

Otherwise - this concern with how long it takes to get into Windows is moot
*if* once you are there - everything works fine?

yes once in windows all is well and quite fast but the start up is just
slugish, I'll try adding Ram and see what that does since it's the cheapest
componant these days

This was one of the symptoms I experienced after the Nortons debacle -
reloading the mother board drivers cured that problem for me (but I still have
other probs)
