Hi,

My PC is becoming very slow in booting. It takes nearly 4 minutes to
come in a complete workable situation. As soon as I start my PC,
I get the desktop with all icons. But then I can't open any document or do
any other jobs.

I've taken a few steps alsobut to no avail.I list'em:

1)Disabled every thing in start up except Norton AntiVirus 2005 and
ZoneAlarm Professional firewall by going to 'msconfig'

2)Installed BootVis and optimized system

3)Defragmented hard disk with O&O Defrag Pro.

Configuration:

H/W:
1.8 GHz,256 MB RAM,40 GB hard disk

S/W:
Win Xp with service pack 2

RAM is minimal for Windows XP, although it does depend on what the
computer is being used for. Most users now go for 512 mb or more.

How large is your hard disk and how much free space?

How are you checking for spyware?

Hope this helps.

Scan for spyware, viruses, malware, and adware in both normal and safe mode.
You might also want to add another 256MB of RAM, but thats just my opinion.
