Slow launch of programs

Hello: I am using windows 2000 pro on an IBM Pent IV Box.
In many cases various programs, ranging from Word to
Quicken to Fidelity Active Trader to Outlook take a
inordinately long time to open. This usually occurs after
the computer is running for a short while. Often after a
restart, the programs launch in a few seconds. Later it
may take over a minute. Also the computer does not follow
the normal instructions to go into hibrination in the
cases when the slow launch in a problem. The hibranate
does work in other cases - Any ideas on conflicts or other
causes would be greatly appreciated.

I am also encountering the same problem. And sometimes,
it shtus down into reboot when there are many applications
running. Also, sometimes, it goes into memory dumping.
