Slow keyboard and mouse response

I have a new computer, 2gigs of ram, dual dvi video card (1 monitor
currently), Intel E6600 processor...not a slow machine. I'm running
XP pro with all the latest service packs and security patches.

Well, I get these random delays in keyboard response and mouse
selections, almost like the processor is bogged down or something. It
doesn't matter how many apps I have running, it can display the
sluggishness with just the browser open.

I have a 5 year old machine with the same software installed and
running with just 768 megs of ram and no problems...

Both the mouse and keyboard are using PS2 ports.

Could there be something wrong with te PS2 ports? I used the same
keyboard and mouse on the old machine.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Brett

Open task manager and watch the processes. When the slow down occurs does
task manager show a processes using a lot of CPU time?

I'm Donnie T or arnold-ziffle, had a similar problem,....

Try control panel, the Accessability Icon, in tabs like Sticky keys your
delay, repeat times may be to long, made my machine respond like a 2 ton cast
iron pig crashing through glass store front windows, it was really gnarlly
dude......
