slow folder view/scroll

I have 2 new xp2 pro computers on our network and they are slow to show
folder items and it's jerky to scroll through.

New computers are xeon 3.2 w/ 1G ram. there are 9 comps on network w/ w2k
SBS.

this doesn't occur on other XP2 comps on the network.

any ideas on how to speed this up? why do other xp2 comps work ok?

more info - it's only the network folders with lots of files that are slow.

Perhaps check the networking newsgroups, but sounds like a DNS issue.
