slow dialup

new computer with xp vaio rs 315
when i connect to my isp it takes 40 seconds to connect
did not have this problem with win 98se is there something
in xp that slows this connecting down?
my old computer would connect in about 8 seconds
please help old man bill 74 years old last week

Try to disable other protocol other than TCPIP to make it connect faster.
