Slipstreaming sp2 with xp home sp1a. How?

I have previously slipstreamed sp2 and xp pro successfully and now want to
do the same but with xp home sp1a. Having spent some time trying to do it
using Paul Thurrott's (Supersite) excellent instructions I find that it does
not work and the error message tells me to find an alternative strategy to
integrate sp2 with xp sp1a.

Googled but maybe not asking the right question although there are several
references to sp1a I did not find a comparable document to Paul Thurrott's
easy to understand for silver surfers instructions.

I would be grateful for a pointer towards a suitable strategy especially
from a contributor to these NG's that has done it successfully.

TIA

Actually, I'd always thought that Paul Thurrott's instructions to be no
real improvement upon Microsoft's own instructions, although Paul does
provide pictures:

A far simpler method, one that I've used successfully:

Thank you Bruce,

I've done it now using nlite which strips out the Dell patches and SP1a.

All contributions gratefully acknowledged.

Get nlite (free) from http://www.nliteos.com/ and use it to create
the slipstreamed ISO image.

Then use your CD burning software to burn that ISO to a CD.

About as simple and as bulletproof as it can be.

Note that with nlite you can also include the post-SP2 windows updates
in the image if you want.

Good luck
