SLIMBROWSER VS. FIREFOX

I was wondering if there are opinions out there regarding the two browsers -
slimbrowser and firefox 2.0. I want the fastest one, but also the one that
would have the least amount of malware seeping in. What has been your
experience regarding these two.
I don't know if this is the correct newsgroup. I looked for a browser
newsgroup and didn't find one, so thought I would start here.
I am running windows xp.
Thanks.

try both and make your own decision.

personally i like avant. but also have firefox because
it was recommended to me by at&t for use with
accessing my email accounts on their server....

firefox seems to be ok and appears to have
lots of features that are provided as add in's
but i don't feel like fiddling with it...

one feature that i do like is that it can
be installed to a usb memory stick. so
i am interested in incorporating this onto
my bootable memory stick and emergency recovery dvd's....

Slimbrowser have lots of options.
You can add extensions to Firefox to make it like SlimB.

Firefox is faster.
SlimB cannot be faster because it uses IE engine.

Well, i can only remember the two differences listed above but the 3rd one is
Avant.
Avant has its Add blocker and is *very* much like Slimbrowser.

I support over 500 users and my experience is that malware arrives on a machine not becuase of the browser
they use but becuase the user at the computer has been sucked into installing it. The best security can often
be easility defeated with social engineering (ask Kevin Mitnick).

FWIW I've been using Avant for years and haven't every gotten malware on my systems. Not even a bad
cookie. Of course this is because I took the time to properly configure my browser and practice save surfing.

Here is a slightly dated cartoon to illustrate the point:

Absolutely right! I couldn't agree with this statement more. Being a
cautious informed user is far more important than what browser you use.
