Slides fail to show

D

David Manners

I am running photographic slide shows using Powerpoint97 having recently
'gone digital' in my photography and presentation.

When running the slide shows, I occasionally get a slide failing to show
(black screen) or a small portion of the image as a stripe down the right
hand side of the screen. These events seem to happen some long way into the
slideshow (in one instance with the same slide each time) but can be
unpredictable. There is no link with automatic slide changes or animation
sequences.

Could there be a problem with the maximum number of slides used? I am
creating shows of about 140 - 160 slides.

Thanks.

More than likely, it is a system resource problem. How much RAM do you have
in the computer that has the difficulty? How big is the PPT file? What
else is the computer working on?

David,

It could be a case of running out of resources. The less you give powerpoint
to do the better.

Have a read of this tutorial (as your graphics may be overkill, if they are
straight from a decent digital camera or scanner, for an on-screen
presentation)
