Slide Show Program

My father bought his winXP computer (Dell) about a year ago. He was real
impressed with the “Slide Show†program, and used it all the time. But now he
tells me he can’t find it anymore. Can’t use it.
..
I suspect it was something like a free-trial period that has now expired.
Please comment on this. If it has indeed expired, how can he go about buying
the program?

You sure it's not just the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, which has a
Slide Show "feature"?

Right click a .jpg file, select "Open with" and see if it's listed...

There is a screensaver called My Pictures Slideshow that will do it. It
should be on all XP systems. Also if your pictures are in the My Pictures
folder under My Documents and you open that folder there should be an option
on the left to view hand sind of Explorer to View as a slide show.

Script

Check (in Explorer) under Tools>Folder Options | General tab.
"Show Common Tasks In Folders" button must be checked.
Switching to "Use Windows Classic Folders", you won't see the Slideshow
option on the left.
